The period 2021-2024 saw rapid changes and growth at Honey Creek Community School, a public school academy chartered by Washtenaw Intermediate School District since 1994.

Under my leadership as executive director/superintendent in conjunction with the board of education, Honey Creek began implementation of a formal and robust system of multi-tiered supports for identified student populations, redesigned the organizational structure and systematized administrative, attendance and financial processes.

Through innovative and aggressive recruitment practices supported by the board of education and under my leadership, Honey Creek attained full-staffing in 2023-2024 for the first time since prior to the pandemic and made exceptional progress in providing compliant delivery of special services and social/emotional supports to the student body.

In cooperation with the board, my administrative team modernized administrative and governance practices, academic interventions, K-8 curricula and assessments while simultaneously improving staffing, staff retention and compensation. In conjunction with Honey Creek's authorizer, we rechartered the PSA, acclimated to a new state-of-the art facility, improved emergency response procedures and vastly improved school/home communications and cooperation. Although my departure for family-related reasons was a very difficult personal decision, I am proud of the monumental changes made under my leadership at Honey Creek School.
